FAQ

Common questions about LDK Precious Jewels pieces and orders.

Yes. LDK works in solid 9K, 10K, 14K and 18K gold. Two pieces in the Tigre Blanc line are sterling silver, and their pages say so.

No, and they are easy to confuse because they sound identical.

K is karat, and it measures gold purity. 9K, 14K and 18K describe how much of the metal is pure gold. A higher K is a richer colour and a higher price for the same design.

C is carat, and it measures a stone’s weight. A 1.00ct diamond is heavier than a 0.50ct diamond. It says nothing about the gold it is set in.

So a ring can be 18K gold holding a 0.80ct stone. The two numbers describe different things and are priced separately.

No, and the difference is often large. Diamonds vary in colour, clarity and rarity, and those differences move the price far more than size alone.

LDK works with rare coloured diamonds as well as white ones. A rare orange diamond and a white diamond of the same weight are not comparable pieces, and we name the stone on each product page rather than calling everything a gemstone.

Yes. Where a piece is offered in more than one, you can choose yellow, white or rose gold on the product page. The price updates as you choose.

Not at this stage. We deliver within South Africa by DHL courier.

Within 7 days of delivery, and by emailing us first. The full terms are on the Returns and Exchanges page.

Payments are processed securely through Payfast, a licensed South African payment gateway. Your card details go to Payfast, not to LDK Jewels, and we never store them.

Yes. Every piece carries a twelve-month warranty against faults in the materials or the making, and a free clean, polish and settings check at around six months. The terms are on the Care Guide.

After the warranty has run we still service what we make. Email payments@ldkjewels.co.za and we will quote you.
